The heart of Piedmont Avenue is just a few blocks away in one direction, Grand Avenue and Lakeshore just a few blocks in the other direction.

There are plans to build 7 upscale townhomes across the street on Linda Avenue. This will add value with rarely-seen new construction homes in Piedmont.

You will also notice a medallion shown in the last photo, this was recently offered to the owner of this home to acknowledge that this home is over 100 years old, according to the city of Piedmont. Here is an excerpt from the book, "Castles and Cottages, the Centenniel Houses of the City of Piedmont" by Ann Swift:

"The Tullet House, 427 Linda AVenue"

Sadie Tullet worked as a housekeeper and raised seven children at the same time. According to the 1900 census, Sadie's sons were working as a blacksmith, a tailor and a core maker. The girls were all in school.

Sadie stayed in Piedmont and so did her children. By 1910, only one of Sadie's sons was still living with her but she still had two unmarried daughters at home. Although she was still married, daughter Jessie had moved home with two children of her own.

In 1920, Sadie added a house to the rear of her own which would be 429 Linda Avenue. Her son, William G. Tullett, built yet another home at 423 Linda Avenue in 1924.
